Northern England Slate with oil finish fireplace Kirkby slate was used from ASN stone in San Francisco . The goal was a very contemporary look and there were plans for a wood mantel later. The tile is set without grout joints and an oil finsh is applied. Kirby slate is exceptionally strong form of slate that is very durable for flooring as well. It is quarried in northern England.
